What makes Drago different?

Automatic, Self-Adjusting Deck Plates

Each deck plate has its own spring-loaded plunger system. There are no hydraulic or electric sensors. Each row is separate and independent.

Deck Plates/Stripper Bars

The rolled plate edge has a Rockwell Hardness of 65. It is designed to guide the stalk without shearing it, and that eliminates excess trash. Plus there’s less stalk whipping with this design because the stalk is drawn down…and that means less ear bounce.

Spring Loaded Plunger

Drago Corn Heads have a spring-loaded pressure system, so there are no hydraulics or electric sensors, and the spring absorbs all the wear, not the linkage. Wear in the competition’s linkage means the plates can’t be adjusted properly.

Adjustable Cam Lobes

Adjusting for maximum and minimum opening on the deck plate is done with a simple rotation of the two adjusting ears on the side of the row units. After making this adjustment you don’t need to worry about deck plate settings again.

Longer Knife Rollers

Drago’s knife rollers are 50% longer, so there is more time for the stalk to travel through. That means reduced ear velocity as it travels to the head, virtually eliminating ear bounce and greatly reducing shelling.

Drago Stalk Chopper

The Drago’s chopper gear box bolts directly into the main gear box, for a shorter power train to the chopper knife. Because the chopper gearbox is a component, it requires only four bolts to add or remove.

Drago Stalk Chopper Position

The Drago Stalk Chopper design has the chopper knife positioned so the ear is removed at precisely the same time the chopping starts, reducing shelling.

Low Head Angle

The adjustable (17 to 20 degrees while competitors are 22 to 28 degrees.) head angle means better feeding than any other head. The result is a better feed in downed corn and ears that are less likely to roll out the front of the head.

Angled Gathering Chains

The finger of the chain actually overlaps the deck plate slot and knife roller gap on the bottom (or in front of the row unit) and then fades away to the side on top of the deck plate. This creates a more aggressive feeding action, more efficient harvest and greater yields, especially in downed corn.

Stealth-Tec Poly Shields and Dividers

The unique, angled design of Stealth-Tec Poly Shields create less potential bounce than the competitor’s. Stealth-Tec’s unique, angled design diminishes contact, so there is less drag and reduced static cling. And Stealth-Tec Poly Shields are 25-30% thicker than competing poly shields.
